Yong Chun Fo Shou tea is a delightful, light oolong with hints of sweet citrus that give the cultivar its name, Fo Shou, or literally, buddha’s hand, named after the fragrant citrus fruit. As a light oolong, this tea really impressed me! I am not usually a fan of light oolongs, however, the mouthfeel, something that is all too often elusive in light oolongs, immediately hit me with this tea. Full and creamy with long lingering brightness, the mouthfeel was so present it actually took me a while to dial in the flavour notes. Eventually, I calmed down and noticed the light, sweet citrus notes that Fo Shou is so famous for tickling my palate. They are especially apparent if you breathe over the tea while you’re sipping. I remember stopping in several gardens and visiting several producers in Yong Chun while we were en route from Anxi to Wuyi and I’m glad we found this one, I hope you will be too!
