Tie Luo Han is one of the traditional five famous cultivars in Wuyi Mountains.
The dry leaf really intrigued me with a roasted raw macadamia nut aroma. The first infusion was delightfully sweet, with a light nuttiness and a sturdy roasted flavour, but the second infusion is where the tea hits its stride. The gaiwan lid just explodes with a full field of summer flowers! However, in the sip, the floral notes were appropriately integrated with the dark chocolate, tobacco, mineral flavours expected from a rock tea. The mouthfeel was wonderfully smooth and clean throughout the whole experience.
